Personnel officer services do not end with recommendations to client

All parts of recruitment process went smoothly, no complications at all. We agreed on business terms and conditions, I started to search, made advertisment, found interesting candidates, implemented a few cycles of interviews and testing, chose two best candidates and recommened them to a client.
Client agreed, but wanted to see both of them before. No surprise. My attendace was not desired. No surprise, again. Despite this fact I enforced meeting directly after the interviews, where I wanted to go through client's feelings and impressions from candidates. I was also curious, which one will my clients prefer and what's the reason for his choice.

It was a big luck we met again with my client. He told me his impression from the first candidate, which was not the best, and was determined to choose the second one. I was listening carefully and then pointed out some "details", which my client didn't take account of: for example  the place of living of both candidates, costs of transportation etc. At the end, the client changed his mind and decided to take the first candidate on.

What does it all mean? Sometimes you need more than just a few senteces from foreing people to get to know all the situation, you need another points of view and unbiased recommendations... and that's the moment when you can see the diferences between sending on CVs and real human resources management.
