Everybody forgets sometimes something. We forget to call our friend. We forget to iron our husband’s shirt when he really needs it for the important meeting. We forget ours mother’s name’s day. When we realise it, we apologize and rectify it. The same thing should be done by the candidates who forget to arrive at the arranged job interview (recently there was quite lot of them). They should apologise even if they did not forget but they received better offer and so the interview seems to be worthless, or there was anything else why they could not manage to come. Not only does it say a lot about the candidate but also it just polite.
And so I beg the candidates who are reading this article „Do not hesitate to apologise in case you get into similar situation like these“. Just short sms or email will be sufficient, in advance or even after the meeting. It looks better and we won’t hesitate to contact you next time due to a different offer. You do not have to be worried, shamed or to hesitate – we are people as well.
